A natural bath and body product has ingredients that are made solely from natural ingredients from herbs, oils, roots and flower extracts. To help retain their nutrients, these ingredients are often mixed with other agents. The agents used are humectants, preservatives, surfactants and emulsifiers such as mineral water, oils and soap. Basically, a natural bath and body product carries no synthetic chemicals.
Can I make my own natural bath and body skin care solution?
You definitely can. Many people make skin care solutions in their kitchen. Salt baths can be easily created with some kitchen sea salt, natural oils and even herbs like turmeric. But since there is now a growing number of companies that are promoting the natural bath and body product, we no longer have to spend time in the kitchen pounding on orange peels into a pulp or blending ingredients before being able to use them on our skin. Therefore, using a natural product is definitely more convenient. The product is ready in a jar and can be stored easily.
What are the benefits of using a natural bath and body product?
Natural bath and body products actually work from the inside out. The ingredients found in the natural bath and body product actually work with your skin’s natural functions. For example, they are able to stimulate the normal production of sebum in your skin. They are also able to build natural barriers to protect and support healthy skin without the harshness. Basically, the natural bath and body product is like fitting a glove over cold hands rather than applying heat, which may burn or cause dryness.
These natural products are very light and gentle on the skin and does not harm the natural processes of the body. This means you can take as many baths as you want with the product without developing skin irritation.
The agents mixed in natural body and bath products can also control the toxic ingredients of natural derivatives like vegetable and animal extracts. Therefore, natural bath and body products are preferred over home made concoctions.
Third, natural bath and body products can have medicinal value. Thousands of years ago humans have been using natural ingredients to treat simple cuts to deep wounds. It’s no wonder natural products are now being manufactured to heal the body as well as the senses. For example, lavender oil used in a bath can promote both a soothing and relaxing effect.
One downside about the natural bath and body product is that it does not have a long shelf life. However, this is because it has no added chemicals. Also, the product may not act as immediate remedy for severe skin conditions, but can be safer as a gentle treatment that gives you positive effects in the long run. For best results, use natural bath and body products for skin health maintenance.

Pink or blue is what most people think of when they think of sweet, chubby babies. But you are thinking green. As your new baby enters the world, she is fresh, pure and untainted. You only want the best to surround her and the peace of mind that she is protected from harsh and unnecessary chemicals.
In years past, you would have had to make your own organic products for your baby. But following the popularity of organic food, organic baby products have found vast acceptance among attentive and purposeful parents. An array of Eco-friendly, organic skin care products including lotion, shampoo, soap and gifts, are now available for the conscientious parent.
Chemical Overload
Babies are exceptionally sensitive to the health risks inherent in pesticides and other chemicals. They eat and drink more than adults in relation to their size so their food must be chemical free. Even organic clothing is wise because of the high chemical content in cotton and synthetic fabrics. But skin care is of the utmost importance.
Since their skin is so new and soft, it absorbs chemicals, preservatives and harsh detergents easier and more quickly than an adult’s skin would. Even nationally branded products that are made for babies include large amounts of fragrances, detergents and preservatives, all which can irritate the skin and lungs, can cause skin reactions and are unnecessarily strong for children. And considering how often the baby puts her fingers in her mouth and you can also begin to see the danger of digestion.
Choosing Organic
With organic bath and body products specifically made for babies, you can feel confident that you are keeping your baby clean and healthy without subjecting her to harsh chemicals. All-natural baby skin care products use botanicals to accomplish the same purpose as chemicals, without the disturbing side effects.
Her hair will be just as clean when you use organic shampoo. He eyes and skin will be less irritated when you rinse away the shampoo. She will smell just as sweet when you use natural handmade soap, baby bath with natural ingredients and certified organic body care products. And her skin will be just as smooth when you utilize shea butter and organic body lotion. You can rest easy that her skin will not have a reaction and she will not be in any danger of ingesting residual chemicals as she sucks her fingers and toes.
Natural skin care products also addresses sensitive skin issues. The longer she avoids products that trigger sensitive skin irritations, she stronger and more resilient her skin will be. There is no need to try endless products, trying to determine the trigger for her sensitive issue. Instead choose purely organic and avoid sensitivity issues entirely.
Conclusion
Organic skin care products do more than provide peace of mind. You have given her a healthy start during her formative years. As your toddler grows, you can forgo worrying if she accidentally guzzles the bottle of shampoo or chews on the bar of soap. You have set the stage for a life-long use of natural, safe and chemical free pro

Bath and body products are intended to improve health. Soap was not originally created because it smelled good, it was created because it washed off dirt and bacteria, and consequently made us smell good. Likewise, body lotions were not created to make us smell good, but to protect our skin from the harsh world. Given this context, how do your bath and body products hold up? Have your products been designed around maximizing marketability or around their ability to improve your health?
Sadly, the bath and body industry is nearly completely monopolized by large companies who know what sells. What determines the price of a bath and body product is not the ingredients, but the marketing. As a result, nearly every bottle of bath and body products found in a large chain store has harsh chemicals and petroleum byproducts in it. I was in Walmart last month looking down the body lotion aisle and nearly every bottle of lotion contained either mineral oil or petrolatum. The only ones that did not have mineral oil or petrolatum were the glycerin (a type of sugar – not an oil) based lotions. Just because a bottle says “with Cocoa Butter” does not mean that Cocoa Butter is the foundation of the lotion, it generally means that a small amount of Cocoa Butter was added. The primary foundation of the lotion is usually still mineral oil, petrolatum, or something worse.
The reason petroleum products are used is because they are very inexpensive, don’t go bad over time, and act as great carriers for fragrance, and because there are no components that can be absorbed by the skin, your relief is fleeting, leaving you perpetually needing more.
The truth is that most bath and body products are not designed with your health in mind; they are designed with marketing in mind. So what can you do? The primary way to take care of yourself is to know what it is you are buying, which means shopping based on what is on the back of the bottle, not the front. So what should you look for?
When it comes to lotions, the key thing to look for in the ingredients is natural oils or butters at or near the top of the product ingredient list. The highest quality products will be made nearly entirely with oils and butters. This means that they will be listed as the first ingredient, likely followed by water. If water comes first, then the majority of what you are buying is made up of water. Even if the bottle says that it contains natural oils or butter, if mineral oil, petrolatum, glycerin, or any chemical name comes ahead of the natural oil/butter in the product list, then the natural oil/butter content is negligible and will have little impact on your skin. Its addition was for marketing purposes.
When it comes to bath products (i.e. soap, shampoo, etc.), the key thing to look for is if the product has sodium lauryl sulphate or any name that sounds or looks similar. Bath products need to have detergents in them in order to clean, but our skin does not need the harshness that sodium lauryl sulphate or its alternatives bring. It is too strong and cannot be properly complexed with moisturizers to leave a silky feel. Find a product that does not have this detergent.
It is the ingredients listed on the back that will determine whether the bath and body products are going to improve your health. So, next time you head into the store to buy a bath and body product for yourself or a friend, make your purchase based on the ingredients on the back. You will be much happier with your skin and will consequently find yourself buying fewer bath and body products.
